Building Bridges Project

building briges logos

The Building Bridges project is a collaboration between Camcare & the City of Boroondara working on understanding the cross cultural parenting experience of the Indian & sub-continental communities in Boroondara. This pilot has been funded by the Rotary Club of Balwyn and DISHA is our community partner.

Residents from Indian subcontinent are the 2nd largest ethnic group in Boroondara and with a median age of 29, mainly made up of young families. The Building Bridges project is targeted at these young families & their children.
The 12 month project focuses on the key strengths and challenges of cross cultural parenting. Using a child centered approach, Camcare will be collaborating with local schools and community agencies and delivering parenting modules covering child development, working with schools and teachers, a Q & A session with experts in the field and young adults from an Indian background who have experience of growing up in Australia.

Camcare is reaching out to the community through Community Conversations.
