Family Services Program
Camcare’s Family Services program assists vulnerable and at-risk children and their families to develop, maintain and strengthen their family functioning.
Services are usually delivered in people’s homes. Caseworkers work together with families to address family and parenting difficulties, in order to enhance the safety, stability and development of children and young people. They also work with families to enhance their independence and improve community connections to access community resources.
Camcare is a partner organisation in the Inner East Integrated Family Services Alliance. Our Family Services team accepts referrals from the Child Family Information Referral and Support Team ( ChildFIRST) which is the central point of intake into family services for the Inner Eastern metropolitan area. To contact ChildFIRST, call 1300 762 125 and ask for the intake worker.
However, families and service providers are still welcome to liaise with Camcare to discuss their needs, as the agency has a range of additional services to support families.
The Integrated Family Services team undergoes regular professional development to ensure best practice in working to support the safety, wellbeing and appropriate development of children and young people. Our family services practitioners take a partnership approach to their work – collaborating with families, schools, Maternal and Child Health (MCH), doctors and other service providers to achieve a holistic approach and improved outcomes for families.
