At Camcare, community is everything to us. We offer welcoming, non-judgemental and immediate food relief services to uplift and empower individuals and communities in the City of Boroondara. We provide a weekly supply of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as packaged food, toiletries, and other essential items to help you overcome the burden of food insecurity, negotiate the payment of household bills.

From the fresh produce growing in our kitchen garden to supply by food banks and local food drives, we nurture community connectedness to ensure access to fresh food in a fair, equitable, and friendly environment.

Building Individuals and Communities Through Our Canned Food Drives

At Camcare, we deliver our services with a focus on building community connections and pathways to self-reliance. Our food relief services encourage and empower people to move forward as active members of the community, and with the community behind them, so they and their families can thrive.

Our canned food drives are one example of Camcare’s community spirit in action.

Every year, our team comes together with local churches and community members to run food drives for local residents from households throughout the municipality. As well as Camcare, our canned food drives benefit causes such as Anglicare Mission House and the Salvation Army Camberwell.

If you are facing food insecurity, are on a low income, or are experiencing homelessness, come to Camcare. Through initiatives like our food drives, disadvantaged individuals and families can access nutritious, non-perishable food and receive the helping hand they need.

Camcare offers individual case management, advocacy services, grants to third parties for essential items, and access to fresh food through initiatives like our weekly Fresh Food distribution table.

Community-Led Free Food Services: Food Pantries & Our Kitchen Garden

Offering more than just food security, Camcare’s food relief services provide you with the opportunity to get involved in your local community in a rewarding, uplifting way. You can access free food from our pantries, food drives, and other food distribution services, and you can get involved in Camcare’s kitchen garden.

Working beside our team of committed gardeners, participants in the kitchen garden are able to enjoy rewarding work in a safe and nurturing space. Assist in the cultivation of fresh fruit and vegetables that go towards our weekly distribution, and assist other marginalised individuals and families in need.

Free Meals for the Homeless and Those Facing Adversity

Camcare’s food drives, advocacy, outreach, and fresh food distribution services are proudly available to all individuals experiencing hardship and adversity in the City of Boroondara area. We deliver food relief services to those who need them most, including people experiencing homelessness.

Food Donations: Donate Food to Those Experiencing Food Insecurity

Camcare relies on your generous donations to cover the costs of the services which do not attract funding from Government. Food donations and monetary donations allow us to continually provide responsive, compassionate services, including food relief assistance.

Access Crisis Food Relief in the City of Boroondara, Including Ashburton, Auburn, Balwyn, Camberwell, Deepdene, Glen Iris, Hawthorn, Kew, and Surrey Hills

Camcare works from our two offices at:

As well as this, we visit people’s homes, local schools, and community centres, including Boroondara Youth Services Community Centre.
