Understanding Stress in Our Lives

We all get stressed from time to time, and stress is especially common at tough moments in life. Understanding your stress, coping with it in a healthy way, and pursuing wellness and self-care are all important steps in the reduction and management of stress.

If your stress persists and begins to overwhelm you, it may contribute to the emergence of more serious mental health problems, including anxiety and depression. In any case, stress that you are struggling to manage should be made a priority, whether that means reducing your stress levels yourself, talking to a family member or friend, or chatting with a counsellor.

To discuss stress and wellbeing counselling in the City of Boroondara, reach out to a Camcare Case Manager today.

Stress Help: Stress Management Counselling through Camcare

If stress is affecting your day to day life, please know that help is available. Built on the spirit of community, the Camcare team will do everything we can to support you, to uplift you, and to empower you to overcome and manage stress in a healthy and effective way.

When you access free stress management counselling through Camcare, our Case Workers and professional counsellors will work with you to develop a range of strategies. This includes exploring the triggers of your stress, identifying coping methods to manage stress, and teaching you self-care methods to prevent stress from overwhelming you in the future.

There are many potential triggers for stress, and you may not even be aware of why you are stressed in the first place. Common stress triggers include problems at home, difficulties at work or with your finances, or concerns about yourself or those who are close to you.

Even a happy experience, such as the arrival of a new baby, can be a cause of stress, while events or experiences from your past can also trigger stress at expected or unexpected times.

Camcare can also help you explore the right coping strategies in times of stress, from staying active to listening to music, reading, meditating, praying, or massage.

At Camcare, we understand that marginalised individuals are often those who are suffering the most. Operating with care, compassion, and respect, we strive to help individuals who face personal adversity, socio-economic disadvantage and financial stress. We can offer you the targeted help you need, as well as helping you forge meaningful social and community connections so you can move forward with your life.

Anxiety Help: Counselling for Anxiety through Camcare

Anxiety is a multifactorial condition, meaning there is no one factor that leads to anxiety. As well as ongoing stress, a history of physical and mental health problems is just one of the factors that can lead you to feel fearful and anxious.

Just as with stress, what helps with managing and overcoming anxiety will differ from person to person. Through stress and anxiety counselling with Camcare, you can talk to a professional and get access to the resources and support that can best help you in managing your anxiety.
