At Camcare, our mission is to help individuals and families who are facing adversity, socio-economic disadvantage, and other significant hardships. Primarily serving the City of Boroondara, we proudly offer individualised and targeted services that can empower your family and make a difference in your life.

Our integrated family support services offer in-home assistance for families with complex needs. This includes assisting you with parenting strategies, addressing risk and safety issues in relation to children, providing practical household management assistance, and offering access to services in the community.

Our integrated family support services are aimed at families in the following circumstance:

  • where a child may be vulnerable or where families need some support to deal with a range of daily challenges they experience
  • families with children and young people from pre-birth – 18 years
  • families living in Boroondara, Monash, Whitehorse or Manningham

Our Integrated Family Services Caseworkers can visit families at home or in the community.

Camcare - Supporting Families

How We Help You: From Sibling Rivalry and Fighting to Parenting and Child Problems

When you access Integrated Family Services, our qualified team will work together with each family member. We will strive to help vulnerable and at-risk children, to address parenting difficulties and family conflict, and to assist with other stressful household issues.

This collaborative process aims to develop clear goals which can be regularly reviewed, ensuring the support you receive is targeted, effective, and designed to meet your family’s needs. Each of your family members will be treated according to their unique needs, with an emphasis on parenting and the safety, stability, development, and wellbeing of children.

Our Integrated Family Services will encourage the use of positive parenting strategies, help parents manage the behaviour of their children, and support families in devising household routines that work for everyone.

Some of the areas where Integrated Family Services can help you include:

  • Family conflict and family violence
  • Sibling rivalry issues
  • Financial difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Child development issues
  • Alcohol and other drug issues
  • And more

School Refusal Issues and Child and Teenage Delinquency Support

For children and teenagers, a combination of school and family stresses can cause them to act out, possibly even leading to a refusal to attend school altogether.

Our Integrated Family Services team can work with children and teenagers in your household, providing them with coping strategies, and exploring issues related to mental health, trauma, and other matters. Our Caseworkers can also recommend further professional support as required.

We understand that children, and especially teenagers, might feel more comfortable accessing these services outside the home. Our Integrated Family Services Caseworkers can also co-locate in a community setting such as community centres to assist children and teenagers in the family.

Child Abuse Support and Assistance for Parents Being Physically Abused by a Child

Integrated Family Services may be able to assist families that have experienced conflict and violence in the past. This includes families with a history of child abuse as well as instances of parents being physically abused by their children.

Our Caseworkers can link your family with the appropriate professional and community services to address a range of needs, and we also provide case management for families with many support services in their lives.

To report life-threatening concerns, please ring Victoria Police on 000.
